Liverpool Museum

World Museum Liverpool is a large museum in Liverpool, England which has extensive collections covering archaeology, ethnology and the natural and physical sciences. Special attractions include the Natural History Centre and a free Planetarium. Entry to the museum itself is also free. The museum is part of National Museums Liverpool.

Chinatown

El barrio chino : (Chinatown, Liverpool) está situado cerca del centro de la ciudad muy cerca de la catedral, y es el hogar de la comunidad china .El arco es de los más grandes. Se estima que el número de los chinos en Liverpool podría oscilar entre 25.000 y 35.000. Chinatown se ha extendido de manera significativa desde su primer establecimiento, ahora ocupando gran parte . Las calles de Chinatown de Liverpool están decoradas con linternas chinas y todos los letreros de las calles están en bilingüe( inglés y chino). Restaurantes chinos,supermercados, librerías y otros negocios están ahora esparcidos por todo el distrito.

Nosotros, vimos el gran arco yendo a la catedral y nos impresionó muchísimo y nos hicimos varias fotos.

Funny Anecdotes 2

Todos los días, cuando subía al coche, casi siempre me equivocaba, pues los coches de Liverpool tienen el volante en el lado contrario. Abría la puerta y la volvía a cerrar. Pues bien, un día volvía a mi casa y abrí la puerta y me senté, lo más normal. Pero cuando me di cuenta tenía el volante justo en frente. Yo, me quedé paralizado y el señor me dijo : Bueno que...¿Conduces tú? (en inglés) Y yo lo entendí a la primera y me bajé muy avergonzado, al igual que cuando sonó la alarma en la casa.

En Liverpool, todas las noches, después de cenar, me sentaba junto a Brian, que era el marido de mi familia allí. Me sentaba con él a ver la tele. Normalmente ponía la BBC. Siempre veíamos programas muy interesante y documentales. Aprendí mucho de esta forma. El primer día puso subtítulos a la tele (subtítulos en inglés) y así podía leerlo y entenderlo mejor. Vimos varios documentales sobre animales, supervivencia. De música, coches, risa... Era todo muy tranquilo y te sentías como en casa. Un día, por ejemplo, vimos un documental sobre playas del mundo, y salió Mallorca. Yo le empecé a contar que mi padre es de allí, que tengo una casa allí. Ellos me dijeron que les encantaba Mallorca y habían ido muchas veces. ¡Vaya, que coincidencia! Me lo pasaba muy bien. Con Marie no veía la tele... ¡Porque se pasaba todo el rato con el teléfono! O eso me pareció ver.

ANECDOTE LIVERPOOL. Juan Carlos Pons. Wednesday.

On Wednesday we went to baldeberde. We could get up later. Marie (the mother of my family) told me it. But the next day I didn´t remember and I got up and I walked into the kitchen and... ¡the alarm sounded! I was very surprised. I went upstairs and I saw Marie out of her bed. She turned off the alarm and said: I told you, you can sleep more today. Oh dear. I felt terrible. But it was funny.

Metropolitan Cathedral

METROPOLITAN CATHEDRAL

The Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King is the Catholic cathedral of Liverpool. Its foundation stone was laid in 1933 between Brownlow Hill and Mount Pleasant. It was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens but the project was redesigned and ended with a design of Sir Frederic Gibberd.

The cathedral has a circular nave that remarks its modernity. The high altar can be seen by the 2,300 people that fit in it. The tower of the cathedral is 101 high, but the original desigh was even higher.
Several chapels can be found circling the nave, each of them is different of the others.

SATURDAY 26th

SATURDAY
On Saturday we went to the academy. This day was  Andrea´s birthday and we ate a very good chocolate cake.































We had our last English class. The teachers gave us some certificates.
Later in the afternoon, we went to the Albert Dock, (the port). We saw
the boats and shops. We went into a souvenir shop. We bought magnets, mugs, dolls ... And other things. Later, some people returned to the Liverpool football club´s shop and we bought things. Other people went to other shops. It was a great day.

Monday 28th

THE LAST DAY

On Sunday we had our own plans. On Monday we met at the airport and flew by plane to Madrid. The trip ended and we returned to Spain. It was very sad. We said goodbye to our families and ...

FRIDAY 25th

On Friday we also practised English in the academy, ate and went to the cathedrals. We took a photo with the shirts we bought at Anfield.

First we went to the Anglican Cathedral and then to Catholic one.

They were very big and beautiful, we saw many things on the road: a lambanana, suitcases and guitars with names... It was good fun!

Thursday 24th

On Thursday we went to the academy. We learned English and later we ate. Every day our food was different and the family gave us many things. Then we went by bus to Anfield. we could see the stadium, the players' t-shirts, the interview room and the guide told us things. We also went to the official shop and we bought hats, scarfs, shirts, and more. We had a great time.

Wednesday 23rd

On Wednesday we went to a only girls school to spend the day there. We played games with our partner and we studied english in classes of history, science and more. We had a very good day and they treated us very well. your partnerhat there were people who went to their houses and people who played cricket. Fantastic day!

Tuesday 22nd

On 22nd of March we went in the morning to the Academy to practise English with our teachers. Later, we ate our lunch.

Then we went by bus to 2 museums in Liverpool. We saw many interesting things. The museum was very modern. We went to have dinner with our families.

MONDAY 21st

WE GO TO LIVERPOOL! First day.

We got up very early because we had to take the bus to the airport. It was a long journey. Then we went to Jonh Lennon airport. From John Lennon Airport airport we went to the Campus. Terri explained us all the information. The families came to take us home. We had dinner with our families and we went to bed early because we were very tired.

EVERTON

Everton FC is another football club in Liverpool and has a nice motto: Nils satis nisi optimum (Nothing but the best), that shows the spirit of the team. Everton was founded in 1878 and started as St. Domingo's FC, in 1879 it changed the name to Everton. Royal blue and white are the colours of Everton team and fans and its stadium is Goodison Park.
Everton was one of the clubs that founded the Football League in 1888 and the Premier League in 1992.

Dixie Dean was one of its most famous players since he scored 60 goals in 39 league games in 1927 - 1928.

Everton has one Spanish player: Mikel Arteta, he is midfielder and his previous football team was Real Sociedad.

REUNIÓN VIAJE A LIVERPOOL

El pasado 23 de Febrero todos los padres y algunos hijos nos reunimos junto a Paola, Carmen y el director en la biblioteca. Nos reunimos para hablar sobre el viaje a Liverpool. Vino mucha gente. Nos empezaron a explicar varias cosas:

• Toda la documentación.
• Todos los participantes.
• El Transporte.
• Las fechas y horarios.
• Teléfonos
• Temperatura.
• Equipaje.
• Vestuario.
• Material escolar.
• Medicamentos.
• Seguros.
• Programación de actividades.
• Y objetivos.

Nos lo explicaron muy bien, hubieron algunas preguntas y Paola o Carmen las respondían, por eso todo acabó tan bien. Estamos todos ya preparados para zarpar, ¡Ya queda muy poco!

CHRISTMAS MARKET IN HELIOS

Hello we are David and Marta Sibel and we are some of the writers and I am going to tell you what happened in the Christmas show at my school. Todos los estudiantes que van a Liverpool participaron en una paraeta vendiendo diferentes alimentos. Había chocolate, palomitas, creps, etc. Estuvimos durante todo el festival vendiendo. Estuvimos muy ocupados porque la gente venia con muchas ganas para ver el festival y de paso, tomar algo. Recaudamos muchos fondos, y los dividieron para que cada uno tuviera su parte. Lo pasamos muy bien y compartimos un momento muy divertido, por lo que estuvimos juntos y colaborando para nuestro proyecto.

HI! we are Marta and Juan Carlos, this is video 2, it is fantastic.
In the video we are in Liverpool, in the school, in the house... And there are many problems...Paola and Carmen explain everything to us on Fridays . We have to be nice, and be kind. In the school we are going to learn more English. In the houses we will eat, sleep, have a shower... WITH THE FAMILY!

LIVERPOOL FC.

LIVEPOOL FC.
Liverpool has one of the more famous football teams of England. Some of the team members are Spanish, like Pacheco, who plays as forward and is from Malaga. There is also Ayala, he is a defender and is from Sevilla. Finally we find Reina. Pepe Reina is from Madrid and is a goalkeeper. He was one of the components of "la roja", the team that won the FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Of course the team has plenty of great British players.
Red is the colour of the team and the colour of their fans. They have won 18 national titles and 5 European Cups. They play at Anfield Stadium, that was open in 1884. The place has gone through several improvements and now it is a faboulous place to play and to be as a football fan.
