Metropolitan Cathedral

METROPOLITAN CATHEDRAL

The Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King is the Catholic cathedral of Liverpool. Its foundation stone was laid in 1933 between Brownlow Hill and Mount Pleasant. It was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens but the project was redesigned and ended with a design of Sir Frederic Gibberd.

The cathedral has a circular nave that remarks its modernity. The high altar can be seen by the 2,300 people that fit in it. The tower of the cathedral is 101 high, but the original desigh was even higher.
Several chapels can be found circling the nave, each of them is different of the others.

SATURDAY 26th

SATURDAY
On Saturday we went to the academy. This day was  Andrea´s birthday and we ate a very good chocolate cake.































We had our last English class. The teachers gave us some certificates.
Later in the afternoon, we went to the Albert Dock, (the port). We saw
the boats and shops. We went into a souvenir shop. We bought magnets, mugs, dolls ... And other things. Later, some people returned to the Liverpool football club´s shop and we bought things. Other people went to other shops. It was a great day.

Monday 28th

THE LAST DAY

On Sunday we had our own plans. On Monday we met at the airport and flew by plane to Madrid. The trip ended and we returned to Spain. It was very sad. We said goodbye to our families and ...

Friday 25th

FRIDAY 25th

On Friday we also practised English in the academy, ate and went to the cathedrals. We took a photo with the shirts we bought at Anfield.

First we went to the Anglican Cathedral and then to Catholic one.

They were very big and beautiful, we saw many things on the road: a lambanana, suitcases and guitars with names... It was good fun!

Thursday 24th

On Thursday we went to the academy. We learned English and later we ate. Every day our food was different and the family gave us many things. Then we went by bus to Anfield. we could see the stadium, the players' t-shirts, the interview room and the guide told us things. We also went to the official shop and we bought hats, scarfs, shirts, and more. We had a great time.

Wednesday 23rd

On Wednesday we went to a only girls school to spend the day there. We played games with our partner and we studied english in classes of history, science and more. We had a very good day and they treated us very well. your partnerhat there were people who went to their houses and people who played cricket. Fantastic day!

Tuesday 22nd

On 22nd of March we went in the morning to the Academy to practise English with our teachers. Later, we ate our lunch.

Then we went by bus to 2 museums in Liverpool. We saw many interesting things. The museum was very modern. We went to have dinner with our families.
